| Sunday 26th June - Lunch and AGM |
Whinstone View laid on a very good buffet lunch, more than most could eat |
 |
Photographed here - L to R - George Howd, Sheila Howd (Dent), AOSA President Maeve Hird, and her partner Mike Widd, and Roy George.
Maeve no doubt would be thinking of the moment she would be asked to give her Presidential Address. |
| Jenny Summerfield (Smith) in conversation with William Pine - AOSA Hon. Treasurer, and Andrew Vaux - Area Secretary for East Cleveland. Jenny could not get to to Ayton on Saturday as she was committed to a large musical event in Leeds, but it was great to see he on Sunday.
Jenny had done most of the Reunion planning work, hiring the marquee and making all the arrangements with Whinstone View, food and otherwise, for which many thanks from us all for another successful organisation. |

Two photos showing AOSA Members and friends gathering for the 117thAGM |
Diz Dexter - AOSA Chairman - conducted the AGM in her usual efficient and friendly manner.
After introducing President Maeve Hird, who gave her Presidential Address, the balance of the Meeting was completed, including election of Officers and Committee for the coming year.
Roy George named Martyn Gaudie as the President elect for 2006-07. Sadly Martyn was unable to attend the Reunion being confined to bed with a bad 'flu attack.
There was a long discussion on the future of Reunions. The Committee asked for the Meetings thoughts on balancing Reunion losses against the importance of continuing to hold this annual event at Whinstone View. The Meeting agreed that the 2006 Reunion should be at Whinstone View and that every effort be made to substantially reduce the Reunion loss, and that a further discussion would be held at the 2006 AGM. |

Maeve Hird delivered her witty and informative Presidential Address - a fascinating account of her life from a child though school - and Ayton in particular - her experiences as a teacher.
All at the AGM enjoyed Maeve's Address and the text is online with this Reunion Report. Click here to go direct.

Don't forget to put new year's Reunion date on your calendar
24th and 25th June 2006
|
This final photo is mainly of those who were at School in the 40s and 50s and who were born in 1936, and who wish to remind everyone that next year is our collective 70th Birthday and a big party is planned. Not to be missed.
If you are 70 next year and not on the Ayton Old Scholars' e-mailing list, and would like to be kept in touch with arrangements, contact Dick Dennis without delay.
The 2006 Reunion will be at Whinstone View - last weekend in June. If you would like to see Whinstone View's website for full details of their excellent facilities, click on this link to open a separate page.
