Examinations

Some successes obtained by our candidates in recent years may be of interest:-

A Junior Oxford candidate was placed first in all England in Geography and received the Silver Medal awarded by the Royal Geographical Society.

One of our Senior candidates (age 15 years 2 months) obtained First-Class Honours with distinction in Mathematics, History and Physics, and exemption from Matriculation.

Three Junior candidates were placed among the first 18 in the whole examination.

Last July nine out of ten candidates in the 6th Form obtained Matriculation Certificates; four distinctions being obtained in History, three in English, one in Geography and one in French.

An open Scholarship of £25 is awarded each year, the gift of Sir John Fry, Bart., and there are other Scholarships open for competition to Ayton Scholars who are connected with the Society of Friends.
